After months and months of toying to get something together–I finally got internet and found the time to launch this little project.
ActivistMapNYC hopes to be some sort of documentation of the changing poltical/geographical spaces and neighborhoods that make New york City. This is to be the place that keeps tabs on where grass-roots organizations are popping up in NYC, what are they working on and what can they learn from each other and maybe how they can start working together.
Last of all: this “movement” as it is sometimes referred to does not have a beginning, a middle or an end. There is only the work.

dark knight singh–
good luck to you and your team. this is an important contribution to the project of re & de-mapping new york city. i’ve been reading a lot about how we need to use our understandings and representations of space as a way to liberate ourselves from the constraints imposed by the state.
like we say: whose streets? our streets! whose city? our city!
